32Group, the exclusive distributor for ZM Trucks in West Asia, North Africa, and Southern Europe, has announced it has secured a 900-unit truck order with ZO Motors North America.
ZM Trucks, a subsidiary of Japan-based ZO Motors, is one of North America’s latest zero-emissions commercial truck brands.
This is the first order 32Group has placed with the manufacturer. The press release made no mention of future orders at this time. However, both companies are currently exploring the possibility of setting up a joint venture with KD Manufacturing to service the region.
32Group's goal is to become the top supplier of alternative energy commercial vehicles in these regions by utilizing ZM Trucks' "cost-competitive and intelligent, zero emission vehicle platforms."
The company adds that, thanks to its experience as a manufacturer and distributor, it intends to provide solutions for only charging infrastructure but will also offer a full range of support services prior to and following the deployment of ZM Trucks in these regions.
Last month, ZO Motors and Canada's ITD Industries announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will see the latter serve as the exclusive distributor of battery electric and fuel cell electric commercial trucks in Canada.
According to its website, ZO Motors “has achieved price parity with comparable diesel trucks, paving the way for small-to-large-sized companies to seamlessly transition from diesel to zero-emissions without compromise.”
