Australia's Pure Hydrogen, a clean energy company that focuses on the development of hydrogen and other energy related projects, has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mechanicsville, Virginia-based Ethero, a dealer for hydrogen fuel cell (FCEV) and battery-electric (BEV) vehicles for the US market.
The MOU, essentially, lays the blueprint for Pure Hydrogen to begin US sales for its fleet of FCEV and BEV commercial vehicles, specifically focusing on its 6x4 refuse trucks and 4x2 box trucks.
Ethero, already a multi-commercial electric truck dealer and charging infrastructure solutions partner, also offers fleet customers with "wrap-around sales and energy services" as the commercial trucking industry continues its transition to zero-emissions. Medium- and heavy-duty trucks for the Mid-Atlantic and Northern California regions are its main distribution regions. It also offers specialty vehicle services for electric terminal tractors.
The MOU dictates that Pure Hydrogen will begin supplying Ethero with FCEVs and BEVs in 2025, assuming the vehicles meet compliance for American operations. Pure Hydrogen adds that it's also interested in expanding business in additional international markets aside from the US, but declined to provide specifics at this time.

"This is our third agreement in the US, highlighting the quality of our product range and associated infrastructure, and we feel privileged to be working with highly knowledgeable experts in Ethero," said Scott Brown, Pure Hydrogen managing director. "Pure Hydrogen has continued to demonstrate a strong track record of successfully executing its hydrogen vehicle strategy and we look forward to providing further updates on this partnership.”
“Ethero is firmly committed to the transition to a zero-tailpipe emissions fleet, and we believe that Pure Hydrogen's offerings have strong alignment with the American market to be a successful supplement to our current product lines," added Dave Rogers, truck and energy director for Ethero.

Pure Hydrogen also recently announced a purchase order with Nutcher Hydrogen, a California-based dealer specializing in sustainable heavy fleet machinery and related equipment to North American customers. It also secured another MOU with Riverview International Trucks, a dealership based in Northern California, to begin negotiations to distribute FCEV and BEV vehicles into that market.
