Oak Park, Michigan-based Bollinger Motors has confirmed that production will officially get underway on September 16, 2024 for its B4, Class 4 battery-electric chassis cab.

Bollinger is teaming with Roush Industries for production, which provides contract manufacturing services from its Livonia, Michigan facility. This enables Bollinger to leverage Roush's longtime production experience and e-mobility expertise. Roush also played a part in producing the B4's development validation in 2023.

“This is an exciting time in Bollinger Motors’ history, as it takes a monumental team effort to go from true start-up to production in the timeframe we have achieved,” said Bollinger President and Chief Operating Officer Bryan Chambers. “The Bollinger Motors team, Roush Industries and our entire supply chain network has worked tirelessly to make the B4 a reality and I am very proud of everyone’s effort.”

Bollinger has been in the news frequently over the past few months. It announced full warranty coverage for the B4, Certificate of Conformity from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and 50-, 70- and 80-vehicle sales to EnviroCharge, Doering Fleet Management and Momentum Group, respectively. Several service centers and dealers have also signed on, including Nacarato Truck Sales, Nuss Truck & Equipment, and LaFontaine Automotive Group.

The B4's battery packs are locally sourced as well, coming from Our Next Energy in Novi, Michigan. Syncron is Bollinger's warranty partner while Amerit Fleet Solutions is its mobile service provider.

“We are experiencing strong momentum in the market, having secured multiple sales orders from important customers throughout the country,” said Chief Revenue Officer Jim Connelly. “We are extremely confident that we are bringing them a truck that will reward their trust and help transform their business. We cannot wait to get the B4 on the road, electrifying America’s fleets.”
