Bollinger Motors says LaFontaine Automotive Group will be its first authorized dealer.

LaFontaine has two locations, both in Michigan, where Bollinger's B4 Class 4 EV will be built. The B4 is an all-electric truck with an 800-volt battery and a unique chassis cab designed with safety in mind.

"We are thrilled to work with LaFontaine right here in Michigan where we designed, and will build, the B4," says Robert Bollinger, founder and CEO of Bollinger Motors. "LaFontaine shares our commitment to quality and customer service."

Bollinger vehicles will be sold at LaFontaine Bollinger Farmington Hills, 30250 Grand River Ave., Farmington Hills, and LaFontaine Bollinger Lansing, 3625 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Lansing. LaFontaine also represents several light-duty and passenger car brands.

"Our partnership with Bollinger Motors is a true testament to the dedicated team we have and our commitment to providing our commercial customers a personalized experience that extends far past the sale of the vehicle," says Ryan LaFontaine, CEO of LaFontaine Automotive Group. "We focus not only on exceeding customer expectations during the sale, but providing service, repair, parts and accessories for our customers as well."

Brian Frania is LaFontaine's commercial and fleet director. He says the company's customer-first approach has resonated with both businesses and municipalities.

"We have seen tremendous growth in both commercial units sold and serviced," he says.

Jim Connelly, chief revenue officer at Bollinger, says more dealer partner announcements are coming, that will show "our commitment to fleets in all 50 states."

Bollinger recently qualified for federal clean vehicle tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act of $40,000 per vehicle for the B4 chassis cab.

Hydrogen Fuel Cell & BEV Survey
The following survey was sent as a link in an email cover message in February 2023 to the newsletter lists for Overdrive and CCJ. After approximately two weeks, a total of 176 owner-operators under their own authority, 113 owner-operators leased or assigned to a carrier and 82 fleet executives and 36 fleet employees from fleets with 10 or more power units had completed and submitted the questionnaire for a total of 407 qualified responses. Cross-tabulations based on respondent type are provided for each question when applicable.
