The Windrose R700 Class 8 battery-electric semi truck has been homologated in the United States, European Union, and China, according to a new LinkedIn post from company founder and CEO Wen Han.
Clean Trucking confirmed the news with Han: "U.S. homologation was achieved at the end of 2025. [We're] accepting reservations now," he said. "Delivery [has] already started in California and will extend along the I-10 corridor."
Commercial vehicle homologation is the process countries use to check trucks, buses, and vans to make sure they are safe, meet environmental rules, and follow technical standards. Vehicles must pass tests and provide documents before they can be sold or used on the road, making sure they work properly and follow the law.
Han added that there is also activity in Canada, where a Megawatt Charging System (MCS) charging-based operation is located in Quebec, and at the U.S.–Mexico border in Laredo, Texas, near the intersection of I-10 and I-35.

Last week, Windrose released an updated U.S. zero-emissions trucking map detailing current coverage for the R700 in I-10 corridor states, specifically Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas.
Windrose is currently accepting U.S. market reservations for the R700 semi, which has a claimed range of 670 km/416 miles, via its official website. A $15,000 deposit per truck is required, excluding taxes.
"We will provide an MCS and CCS1 (combined charging system) combination per truck, [which is] compatible with EV Realty's MCS and Tesla's MCS chargers," Han added.

This is all significant for Windrose's U.S. market ambitions, as the company announced a year ago that the R700 received EPA approval.
Windrose's ongoing expansion
Founded in 2022, Windrose is a global manufacturer with a production facility in Antwerp, Belgium, which serves the European market. Final assembly for Asia and Oceania will reportedly be carried out locally within those regions.
Han told Clean Trucking last year at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo that the company plans to expand with larger facilities in France and the U.S. (likely California) in the very near future. Major components—such as the chassis, e-axles, batteries, and suspension—are expected to be manufactured in China.

As a recap, the R700 features a 729 kWh battery and an 800 V high-voltage system that supports megawatt-level dual-inlet charging. Fully loaded, it can travel approximately 420 miles at a gross weight of 98,000 lbs. The starting price is expected to be around $250,000.
The Windrose reservation page states deliveries are due "by 2026Q1, in [the] United States, Asia, Europe, Oceania, etc."
