Canadian dealer announces partnership with hydrogen dual fuel tech provider

First Truck Center logoDiesel Tech Industries (DTI), a leader in transportation technology, has announced a partnership between First Truck Centre (FTC) and DTI’s Guardian innovative Hydrogen-Diesel Dual Fuel Technology.

FTC will be aiding in the goal to lower emissions by installing the Guardian Hydrogen Diesel System on applications throughout Alberta and British Columbia. The company's say this collaboration marks a significant milestone in advancing sustainable transportation solutions and accelerating the decarbonization of the heavy-duty truck industry. It also paves the way for the trucking sector to streamline its efforts in reducing carbon emissions within their fleets, the company says.

The presence of 12 First Truck Centre locations distributed throughout Western Canada broadens the scope of possibilities across numerous provinces. The Guardian Hydrogen Diesel System facilitates the integration of hydrogen as a fuel source in current diesel engines, effectively curbing greenhouse gas emissions while preserving cost-efficiency.

The companies say the collaboration between FTC and DTI underlines their joint dedication to a low-carbon future. The Guardian Hydrogen Diesel System delivers immediate advantages, including decreased diesel fuel usage and reduced emissions. Furthermore, it provides comprehensive reports for monitoring greenhouse gas levels, managing fleets, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Hydrogen Fuel Cell & BEV Survey
The following survey was sent as a link in an email cover message in February 2023 to the newsletter lists for Overdrive and CCJ. After approximately two weeks, a total of 176 owner-operators under their own authority, 113 owner-operators leased or assigned to a carrier and 82 fleet executives and 36 fleet employees from fleets with 10 or more power units had completed and submitted the questionnaire for a total of 407 qualified responses. Cross-tabulations based on respondent type are provided for each question when applicable.
