Bergstrom introduced its newest innovation, the eCoolPark solar-inspired no-idle solution for light- and medium-duty trucks, during Work Truck Week 2026 Wednesday in Indianapolis, Ind.

Bergstrom says eCoolPark will enable fleet operators in many classes and duty cycles to receive the fuel economy and driver satisfaction benefits available from idle reduction technologies, eliminating the need to idle during deliveries, job-site staging, driver breaks and more.

“We aren’t just introducing an upgrade; we are introducing a fundamental shift in how fleets manage energy,” says Jeremy Byrd, director of sales and market intelligence. “The eCoolPark series was engineered to solve the ‘idle trap’ — the costly necessity of running an engine just to keep a driver comfortable. By decoupling comfort from the ignition, we are saving fleets thousands in fuel and maintenance while significantly improving driver retention.”

The new series debuts with three distinct systems, built on a single, smart architecture:

  • eCoolPark Moon is a simple, efficient accessible no-idle HVAC solution
  • eCoolPark Eclipse is a balanced power no-idle HVAC solution for demanding duty cycles
  • eCoolPark Sun is a future ready no-idle HVAC solution for maximizing cooling endurance

The three solutions are all available now to order, and Bergstrom has leveraged Velociti and other upfit partners for its installation network. Installation varies from a few hours to slightly less than a day depending on the truck and eCoolPark system configuration. Bergstrom also offers options for auxiliary battery packs to support long-term performance.

Hydrogen Fuel Cell & BEV Survey
The following survey was sent as a link in an email cover message in February 2023 to the newsletter lists for Overdrive and CCJ. After approximately two weeks, a total of 176 owner-operators under their own authority, 113 owner-operators leased or assigned to a carrier and 82 fleet executives and 36 fleet employees from fleets with 10 or more power units had completed and submitted the questionnaire for a total of 407 qualified responses. Cross-tabulations based on respondent type are provided for each question when applicable.
