Central States Bus Sales, the largest Blue Bird authorized dealer in North America, opened a new facility in Prattville, Ala. The 15,000 square-foot sales, parts and service center will create 20 new jobs, the company says. 

"Central States is excited to represent Blue Bird school buses in the state of Alabama and expand our service footprint. Since 1975, we have proudly served thousands of Blue Bird and Micro Bird customers in select central U.S. states," says Jeff Reitz, president and CEO of Central States Bus Sales. "Central States Bus Sales remains committed to being the dealership of choice for safe, reliable and dependable school and commercial buses in the region."

The dealership sells and services the full line of Blue Bird Type A, C and D buses, both new and pre-owned, including gas, propane and electric buses. It has eight service bays, a full parts warehouse and administrative officers. The Prattville location is the sixth Central Bus Sales location.

The following survey was sent as a link in an email cover message in February 2023 to the newsletter lists for Overdrive and CCJ. After approximately two weeks, a total of 176 owner-operators under their own authority, 113 owner-operators leased or assigned to a carrier and 82 fleet executives and 36 fleet employees from fleets with 10 or more power units had completed and submitted the questionnaire for a total of 407 qualified responses. Cross-tabulations based on respondent type are provided for each question when applicable.
