Bollinger Motors has confirmed the appointment of former General Motors executive James Taylor as its new CEO. Taylor will take over for company founder Robert Bollinger, who will continue on the company's Board of Directors and a major shareholder.
The Oak Park, Michigan-based battery-electric commercial truck manufacturer also announced the promotions of Bryan Chambers to President and Chief Operating Officer and Siva Kumar to Chief Strategy Officer and Senior Vice President of Finance.

“The leadership changes position Bollinger Motors for continued success, as these three executives have, and will continue to have, a profound impact on our trajectory,” Bollinger said. “I have benefitted from my collaboration with Jim and his deep industry experience. Now is the right time, and Jim is the right person to build on our momentum and get Bollinger to its ultimate goal.”
Taylor is no stranger at Bollinger. He previously worked directly with Robert Bollinger in bringing to market the all-electric B4 Class 4 Chassis Cab. Before joining Bollinger, he held executive positions at Cadillac and Hummer. He also gained vital electric vehicle knowledge while working at Electric Last Mile Solutions, Workhorse, Karm, SF Motors, and Mullen Automotive for the last two years.
“Robert and his team have done an incredible job of creating a world-class electric truck with the Bollinger B4, and the upcoming Bollinger B5," Taylor said. "The response from the market has been very encouraging and we are well-positioned to disrupt the Class 4 trucking market.”
Chambers, who joined Bollinger in 2018 as Program Director, brings with him 35 years of experience in automotive industry leadership. His past experiences include top roles at Alternative Automotive Technologies, Saleen, MSX International, and Allied Signal. He also operated Chambers Services, LLC, a manufacturing consulting firm.
Kumar began his time at Bollinger in 2022 as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to this, he was CFO for Optimal EV and held roles with Skanda Capital, Ford Motor Company, Meritor, and Tenneco Automotive.
Bollinger says it will launch the B4 in the second half of this year. There have already been several customers, among them EnviroCharge and Momentum Groups. Nacarato Truck Centers, Nuss Truck & Equipment, and LaFontaine Auto Group were previously named as dealers and service centers. Syncron is the official warranty provider.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced in June that the B4 meets all government emissions requirements by issuing it with a Certificate of Conformity.
