Michigan-based Bollinger Motors' all-new B4 battery-electric truck has made its way to the West Coast, only a couple months after series production got underway.

“The West Coast represents a critical region of the country for electric vehicle success, and today’s deliveries to TEC Equipment are significant steps forward for Bollinger Motors,” said Jim Connelly, chief revenue officer for Bollinger Motors. “TEC Equipment is a well-respected dealer and an important partner for our West Coast success. We look forward to working with them to build the Bollinger Motors presence in several markets.”

Customer deliveries have kicked off at TEC Equipment dealerships in Lacey, Washington and Oakland and Fontana, California. The B4 Chassis Cab is a Class 4 vehicle designed from the get-go to be an EV, as opposed to a conversion from a ICE-powered architecture. The unique chassis design protects a 158-kilowatt hour battery pack and unobstructed frame rails which enable mounting and uplift adaption.

It can also be customized by fleets to meet a wide variety of requirements.

TEC Equipment announced its inclusion as an official Bollinger dealer back in August, adding some 20 locations to the OEM's growing national network.

“This is an exciting moment for TEC Equipment as we help bring the newest OEM in the trucking industry to market,” said Chris Thompson, TEC Equipment’s vice president of truck sales. “Bollinger Motors is making an all-electric truck that is well suited to help companies meet their commercial fleet needs and we are looking forward to bringing it to current and new customers up and down the West Coast.”

The Bollinger B4 Chassis Cab has an MSRP of $158,758. The OEM qualified for the Inflation Reduction Act's clean vehicle tax credits of $40,000 per vehicle. Additionally, the B4 has qualified for the California Air Resources Board's (CARB) certification and FMVSS compliance, receiving the Certificate of Conformity from the Environmental Protection Agency.

Hydrogen Fuel Cell & BEV Survey
The following survey was sent as a link in an email cover message in February 2023 to the newsletter lists for Overdrive and CCJ. After approximately two weeks, a total of 176 owner-operators under their own authority, 113 owner-operators leased or assigned to a carrier and 82 fleet executives and 36 fleet employees from fleets with 10 or more power units had completed and submitted the questionnaire for a total of 407 qualified responses. Cross-tabulations based on respondent type are provided for each question when applicable.
