Los Angeles-based Harbinger Motors continues to be on a roll in 2025.
The manufacturer of medium-duty battery-electric trucks has announced those vehicles have officially begun series production. Harbinger previously began production for first in line customers, including THOR Industries, ETHERO Truck + Energy, and Bruckner's Truck. To date, more than 100 examples have rolled off the assembly line.
The company says it's received over 4,000 binding pre-orders worth over $400 million from several other industry players and has so far raised $100 million in Series B funding, bringing total investment to $200 million since Harbinger was founded in 2021.

“Our ability to design and move our vehicle into production this quickly is a testament to the creativity and diligence of our world-class team,” said John Harris, co-founder and CEO of Harbinger. “Completing production of 100 chassis is an important achievement for Harbinger. We chose to announce the start of production only after reaching this milestone to highlight that we are producing vehicles at a volume and scale that is truly impactful for our customers and the industry.”
Harbinger's proprietary stripped chassis, manufactured at a facility in Garden Grove, California, was designed specifically to accommodate medium-duty vehicles, such as walk-in vans, box trucks, recreational vehicles, delivery vans, and more. One of its unique design and engineering features is the chassis itself. It contains every major vehicle system - all of which are built in-house - specifically the electric drivetrain, high voltage battery system, steering, brakes, and more.
The truck boasts an 800V liquid-cooled scalable battery system, a range of up to 250 miles on a single charge, and an output of 35kW (470 horsepower) and 13,700 lb-ft of torque.
Customers work with dealers or third parties to uplift the chassis with a commercial or specialty body. Meanwhile, major vehicle testing was recently conducted in Arizona and New Zealand.
“A lot of the experience that helped shape Harbinger’s manufacturing processes came from the experience our team brought from other EV manufacturers and automotive brands," adds Chief Production Officer Gilbert Passin. "We learned what didn’t work elsewhere, and we adopted what worked best.”
